That orange light on your dash isn’t going to clear itself. And the last thing your Audi needs is a general workshop guessing its way around it with a code reader that only speaks half the language your car does.

Here’s the truth: your European car was built to a different standard. It should be serviced to one.

That’s the only thing we do at Vorsprung Automobil. We’re a European-only workshop in Albany, and we look after Audi, VW and BMW every single day — plus the wider German and European family. No generalists. No guesswork. Just the people who actually know your car.

Why a European car needs a specialist (not just any mechanic)

European cars aren’t “the same as everything else, but pricier.” They’re engineered differently, and they punish the wrong approach.

A few examples of what trips up a general workshop:

  • The oil. Your engine calls for a specific spec — VW 504.00/507.00, BMW Longlife-04, and so on. Pour in generic oil, and you can clog a particulate filter or wreck a timing chain over time. We use exactly what your engine was designed for.

  • The software. A basic scanner reads a fault code and stops there. Your car has dozens of control modules that need proper diagnostic software to read live data, run tests and reset adaptations correctly. We’ve got the right gear to actually talk to your car, not just poke it.

  • The detail. Correct torque specs, service resets that hold, coding new parts so the car recognises them. Small things a specialist never skips — and a generalist often doesn’t know about.

Get one of those wrong, and you’re back in a fortnight with a bigger bill. We get it right the first time.

What we service

Whatever your European car needs, it’s under one roof:

  • Scheduled & logbook servicing — done to manufacturer schedule, stamped, and kept to spec so your service history stays clean.

  • Diagnostics — that warning light, a rough idle, a gearbox that hesitates. We find the actual cause instead of throwing parts at it.

  • Cambelts & timing chains — the job that saves your engine. We’ll tell you honestly where yours is at.

  • DSG & transmission servicing — including proper fluid and filter service that most workshops skip until it’s too late.

  • Brakes & suspensionBrake pads, discs, that clunk over the speed bumps, and the ride quality you actually paid for.

  • WOF & pre-WOF checks — so nothing catches you out on the day.

  • Pre-purchase inspections — thinking of buying a used Euro? Let us do the full pre purchase inspections before you sign. It’s the best money you’ll ever spend.

Brands we know inside out

Audi. Volkswagen. BMW. And the rest of the European field — Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, MINI, Škoda, Volvo and Cupra

If it was built in Europe, odds are we’d had one on the hoist this week.

“Won’t servicing here void my warranty?”

No — and this one costs people money because they don’t ask.

In New Zealand, you’re free to service your car outside the dealer without losing your manufacturer or extended warranty, as long as the work is done to schedule and to spec. That’s exactly what we do: correct parts, correct process, logbook stamped or digitally logged. You keep the warranty and dealer-level care — usually for a friendlier price.
